Al Green Picture
Reverend Al Green (b. 13 April 1946) is an American gospeland soulsinger who enjoyed great popularity in the early- and mid-1970's. "Let's Stay Together" and "Tired of Being Alone" were two of his biggest hits. Green boasted a voice capable of both fluid high streams of sugar and possessed deep south growls and rasps. This was perhaps the ideal complement to the orchestral, syruppy, strong soul production work of Hi Records wizard Willie Mitchell, who also helmed 70's classics for Syl Johnson, Ann Peebles, and himself.

Lean On Me Lyrics

Al Green

Some times in our lives, we all have pain, we all have sorrow.
But, if we are wise, we know that there's always tomorrow.
CHORUS
Lean on me, when your not strong, and I'll be your friend,
I'll help you carry on. For it won't be long, 'till I'm gonna need
somebody to lean on.
Please, swallow your pride, if I have
made, you need to borrow. For no one can feel those of your
needs, that you won't let show.
You just call on your brother when you need a hand, we all
need somebody to lean on. I just might have a problem that
you'll understand, we all need some body to lean on.
CHORUS
You just call on your brother, when you need a hand, we all
need somebody to lean on. I just might have a problem that
you'll understand. We all need someone to lean on
If, there is a load, that you have to bear, that you can't carry,
I'm right up the road, I'll share your load, if you just call me.
